What’s new in the Pakistan Super League 2026 with new rules:
1- All teams will be allowed to retain 3 to 4 players instead of 8.
2- This time, teams will not have the freedom to retain players; only one player can be retained from each category.
3- This will result in big players leaving the teams.
4- For the first time in the Pakistan Super League, there will be eight teams and 60 matches. Some players who will not be retained by their teams are as follows: Lahore Qalandars – One of Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Afridi will definitely leave; One of Haris Rauf and Sikandar Raza will definitely leave. Karachi Kings – One of Hasan Ali and Khushdil Shah will definitely leave. Quetta Gladiators – Two out of Abrar Ahmed, Muhammad Amir, and Reeza Hendricks will definitely leave; One of Saud Shakeel and Wasim Junior will definitely leave. Peshawar Zalmi – One of Babar Azam and Saeem Ayub will definitely leave. Multan Sultans – None. Islamabad United – One of Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah will definitely leave.
